MUKTAR ALIYU ART RESIDENCY (MAAR), MINNA – NIGERIA: THE MAIDEN EDITION BEGINS MAY 1, 2024

The management of the Muktar Aliyu Art Residency (MAAR) has selected the pioneer residents of its programme, starting from May 1–21, 2024. In a press release by the manager, Zainab Dzukogi, one visual artist (Oladosu Michael Emerald) and a poet (Adamu Yahuza Abdullahi) were selected.

“Both artists will resume their stay on May 1, 2024. Apart from working on their personal projects, the resident artists will mentor teenagers from secondary schools in Minna City. Similarly, Michael, a photographer, will join in judging the Minna Photography Contest between May 1 and 2, 2024,” the MAAR Manager added. Congratulations to Michael and Adamu on this historic beginning at MAAR,” the manager concluded.

Other MAAR management team members include Vanessa Makama (assistant manager), Aliyu Muhammad Umar (secretary), Emmanuel Umeji (PRO), and Auwal Abubakar (porter).

MAAR is an initiative of the Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. The maiden edition is being sponsored by the Timeout4Africa Foundation of Mr. Jonathan Kolo, based in Washington, DC.
