The HIASFEST Monthly Literary Panel Discussion

The Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation is entranced to announce the launch of a literary series – the HIASFEST Monthly Literary Panel Discussion (virtual). This initiative aims to stimulate engaging discourses on pertinent topics within the vibrant realm of Nigerian literature.

HIASFEST, short for the Hadiza Ibrahim Aliyu Schools Festival, is an annual mega arts and literary festival for secondary schools in Nigeria organised by the Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation. The monthly literary panel discussion is being introduced as an extension of its contributions to a robust literary environment in the country.

The inaugural edition (February 2024) sets the stage for a serious exploration of the theme: “SHOULD NLNG’s Nigeria PRIZE FOR LITERATURE BE A SINGLE WIN OR A MULTIPLE WIN?”

The maiden panel features a distinguished group of experts, each prominent figure in their respective literary fields.

  • Dr. Ola Ifatimehin, Department of Theatre and Performing Arts, Bayero University, Kano.
  • Dame Joan Oji, PhD, Secretary-General, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).

  • Khalid Imam, Secretary, Northern Nigeria Writers Summit (NNWS).

The curators, Ibraheem Uthman and Olumide Ojo Emmanuel have meticulously crafted this initiative to promote an atmosphere of intellectual exchange.
