The Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation is pleased to announce Ojo Victoria Ilemobayo as the winner of April-June 2024 edition of Wakaso Poetry Prize.
The Chief Judge (Dr. Saddiq Dzukogi) acknowledges the quality of all the ten longlisted poems: “I had to be reading them back and forth to be able to pick the winner”. The ten longlisted poems were picked by Dr. Ola Ifatimehin (Judge 1) of the Bayero University, Kano.
The first runner-up is Zara Ibrahim while the second runners-up are: Favour Orlando and Pacella Chukwuma-Eke.
HCAF is grateful to Aisha Wakaso (a journalist) for sponsoring the quarterly prize to the tune of N90, 000. A Chapbook would be published for forty longlisted poets, at the end of the year.
