In honour of the 59th birthday of Baba Dzukogi, a renowned literary figure in Nigeria, The Arts-Muse Fair and Poetic Wednesdays Initiative are excited to unveil a poetry contest. The competition theme, “Baba Dzukogi: Birthing a New Generation,” invites poets to showcase their creativity in 20 lines or fewer. This contest promises to celebrate Baba Dzukogi’s contributions to the literary world and a platform for emerging poets to showcase their talent.

The organizers of the Poetic Wednesdays Initiative and The Arts-Muse Fair are encouraging all participants to engage with them on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. They have requested the contestants to showcase their creative works by using the hashtags #PoeticWednesday, #TheArtsMuseFair, and #BMDzukogi@59 while sharing their entries. Additionally, contestants are advised to post their entries in the comments section of the official announcement post before the submission deadline, which is January 12, 2024.

The competition promises to be exciting, as the rewards for the winners are highly tempting.
