HIASFEST Hall of Fame

The Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation, HCAF, is pleased to announce a novel initiative tagged: the celebration of past winners of the Hadiza Ibrahim Aliyu Schools Festival, HIASFEST; the HIASFEST Hall of Fame.

This Hall of Fame is a shrine to the creativity, talent, and doggedness that have come to define HIASFEST in these years. Since its inception in 2019, HIASFEST has been a lighthouse of inspiration in the nurturing of teen artists in secondary schools across Nigeria, showing the power that arts, culture, and technology have in leading lives at large.

HCAF believes that success stories must be celebrated and used to inspire others. The Hall of Fame will be brightly lit with the remarkable accomplishments of past winners and their extraordinary contributions in the different categories of poetry, prose, drama, ICT, painting, quiz, Nigeria Prize for Teen Authors (poetry and prose), Nigeria Prize for Indigenous Languages (creative writing and science books) etcetera. It aspires to inspire the next generation of young artists, innovators, and schools through the role models it will prepare for future editions of HIASFEST. This program will also secure ties by abetting closer relationships among the alumni, current participants, and the broader community in support of the arts and education in Nigeria and beyond. It will finally provide a platform for gathering valuable feedback from the past participants to improve the organization, extend the reach, and deepen the impact of future events of HIASFEST.

We call on all past winners to be part of this remarkable initiative, your achievements are not only milestones of your talent but also an example for others to follow.

  1. I was happy to come off as the winner of indigenous creative writing (prose) in 2021 title “Tukwo Zhizhigi”, “Gbagyi Mathematics” and in same feat in 2022 with a work titled “Gnuzhei La Byinkoi Manai Wna”.

I felt highly exhilarated and endeared. I see it as the greatest development that has ever happened to the Gbagyi tribe to be given opportunity by HIASFEST to put my language in black and white.

  2. I am currently trying to publish the two works for public presentation and scholarship.

I have also entered the ongoing competition for 2025
