Isyaku Bala Ibrahim, MNIM, is popularly known as the ‘Nupe Writer’ born in Tudun Nufawa, Kaduna, to the late Malam Ibrahim Saidu and Malama Fatima Usman Kocita. He is an indigene of Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State from a village called Bidafu-Zhaba. He started his early education at Bosso Primary School, Bosso and then proceeded to Bosso Secondary School, Bosso, Minna. After his SSCE, he gained admission into the Federal Polytechnic Bida and graduated with a National Diploma (ND) in Financial Studies. He is a trained Manager with a B.Sc. in Management Studies and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto and Bayero University Kano, respectively. He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), Member, Nupe Language Committee (NLC) inaugurated by Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, Member, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA). He is the vice chairman, Northern Nigeria Writers Summit and a trustee, Hilltop Creative Arts Foundation, and Chairman, BoT, Northern Writers Forum. He is currently a staff of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja.
Some of his published books are: Eganmaganzhi Nupe (Nupe Proverbs) – Over 1000 Proverbs with English translation and explanations, 2009; Enyalò (Nupe Arithmetic), 2012; Ebagizhi Be Ebacizhi (Nupe Numeral Digits and Numbers), 2021 and Yerenkpe (Nupe Poems), 2021. He also translated Prof. Muhammad KutaYahaya’s play – Ignorance is a Disease into Nupe as Rakpebo Batán Wun Yi ò with Sadisu Mohammed, 2012.
