Like every year, the Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation (HCAF) is set to open Nigeria’s season of literary, art, and book festivals come January 14-18, 2025, through her annual HIASFEST.
HIASFEST is the largest teen arts festival in Africa and the most comprehensive cultural festival in Nigeria. It spans four days in the city of Minna and covers literature, science, books, technology, ICT, performing arts, visual arts, quizzes, prizes, and awards. It is the only festival of its kind in Africa. This is the 7th edition.
The month starts with the unveiling of a science project by Himma International College, Minna, the winner of the 2024 HIASFEST. The overall winner at HIASFEST gets a cash prize of N1,000,000 to do a science project. This comes up on 8 January 2025.
On January 11, the HIASFEST Trophies for 2025 edition will be unveiled at the Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation Headquarters in Minna. HIASFEST boasts 36 critical trophies and over 10 plaques for various awards.
HCAF was recently appointed the Nigeria Centre for African Poetry Library by the APBF, University of Nebraska, the first of its kind in Nigeria. It would be inaugurated on 13th January 2025, at Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation, Minna.
14th January, 2025 comes with BM Dzukogi at 60 National Colloquium in Minna with the Governor of Niger State attending. Prof. E. E. Sule is the keynote speaker, while Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya is the chairman of the occasion. Dzukogi is one of the leading contemporary art administrators in Nigeria.
The opening ceremony for HIASFEST 2025 is on 15 January 2025. The Night of Tribute on Dzukogi at 60 comes up the same day at NASFAH Hotel, Minna, at 7.30 pm. It is organised by the Northern Writers Forum (NWF).
HIASFEST will run from the 16th and 17th until the 18th of January 2025, when the closing ceremony will be done. HIASFEST is an initiative of a Minna businessman, Alhaji Bala Abdullahi Kwatu, and is supported by the Aliyu Trust Foundation.
