Abubakar Akote is a journalist and researcher with over 10 years of experience in the communication, media training and literary space in Nigeria. His articles and book reviews have featured in various prominent media platforms including Blue Print, The Nation, Art-Muse-Fair Blog, Leadership, Tribune, The Sun, Daily Trust, and Newsline newspapers. His poem is also featured in the anthology of Poem “Breaking the Bud” published by ANA Niger.
He holds a Master of Science in Mass Communications from Bayero University, Kano and has led and participated in several commissioned research works by local and international clients including the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the University of Ibadan, development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) and Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Kaduna.
He is the author of “The Young Freelance: A motivational Account of a Cub Reporter” published in 2012. He currently works with Daily Trust newspaper as the Niger State Correspondent. He has to his credit unpublished poems and a shot story.
