Hauwa Shaffii Nuhu is a journalist and poet from Nigeria with by-lines in several international publications. Her chapbook of poetry, Sister, was published in 2021 by the prestigious African Poetry Book Fund in collaboration with Akashic Books.
She is currently Managing Editor at HumAngle Media. She is a 2018 writer-in-residence at Ebedi Writers Residency, a 2022 Storify Africa Fellow, a 2023 Pulitzer Centre grantee, and a 2023 International Women’s Media Fund (IWMF) grantee. Her work examines the human cost of terrorism and insurgencies relating to transitional justice issues, migration, and displacement.
