Aminu S. Muhammad, a respected writer and art enthusiast, hails from Minna, Niger state, Nigeria, where he received his primary and tertiary education. With a diverse range of literary interests, Aminu excels in crafting captivating works across various genres. He has authored two published children’s books, including “The Moon and The Stars” (1999) and “Ndakpa in Kuso Forest” (2008). His thought-provoking poetry and compelling fiction have graced numerous anthologies and esteemed online platforms.
Aminu S. Muhammad has made remarkable contributions to the Minna literary landscape. Notably, he served as the State Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) in Niger state. Recognizing his immense talents and dedication, he was honoured as a 2018 Fellow of the Arts Managers and Literary Activists Network (AMLA) by the Centre for African Cultural Excellence, Uganda.
Awards have been bestowed upon Aminu for his exceptional work. In 2023, he was named the esteemed Patron of Nigerian Teen Artists, a testament to his commitment to nurturing budding talent. Additionally, his writing earned him a shortlist spot in the Nigerian Flash Fiction competition (2016). Furthermore, Aminu received the prestigious “Writing on Religious Tolerance” award in 2003, bestowed upon him jointly by IET, Nigeria, and The Oslo Coalition (Norway) on Freedom of Religion or Belief.
Driven by his passion for the arts, Aminu S. Muhammad established The Arts-Muse Fair, an influential platform dedicated to advancing contemporary African arts and literature. As the Founder and Curator, he tirelessly works to promote and celebrate artistic expression. In 2018, he co-founded the Minna Book & Arts Festival (Minna-BAF). This exceptional cultural event brings together the city of Minna’s diverse voices and showcases the richness of African arts.
Complementing his vast experience, Aminu has actively pursued professional development in Arts, Writing, and Festival Management. He has extensively trained in Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda, further honing his expertise in various aspects of the art world.
